About The Wild Table

The Wild Table is a visceral woodland sanctuary hosted at Browning Bros.’ fifth-generation, family-run organic farm, just an hour from London. Blending bold, seasonal cooking with the raw beauty of dining completely off-grid, each edition is a celebration of fire alchemy, community, and the changing rhythms of the land.

In a world of constant noise, The Wild Table is an intimate, joyfully unhurried return to the pace of nature - a unique space where the usual rules of time do not apply.

"The Wild Table was a gorgeous pairing of The Laundry's culinary excellence and Browning Bros' unplugged, wooded space. The event was a triumph, taking 'campsite cooking' to a whole new level."Phoebe Anderson, Secret London

Fire-Cooked Alchemy & Woodland Stillness

Our open-air kitchen strips away the formality of the modern dining room to focus on authentic simplicity and glorified campfire cooking. Guided by Chef-Sommelier Melanie Brown’s philosophy of bold, uncomplicated integrity, every plate highlights the sensory magic of farm-to-fire feasting.

Our woodland kitchen is proudly brought to life through the support of our partners at OFYR and BSTRD. Working across the iconic circular wood-fired hearth of the OFYR and utilizing the advanced ceramic technology of BSTRD’s professional-grade equipment, our culinary team brings unparalleled precision to the flame - transforming the terroir on our doorstep into the pure alchemy of woodsmoke, time, and nature.

"Thank you so much for a wonderful evening, we had a delightful time meeting Mel and the Browning family + the Laundry team. What a special place! So atmospheric and the food was incredible. Also loved the woodland stroll element at the start and a stop-off in the woods for a spritz."Zana Wilberforce, Citizen Femme

The Team

Melanie Brown
New Zealand-born chef and sommelier Melanie Brown is the force behind The Laundry—a much-loved South London restaurant known for its seasonal, ingredient-led cooking and easygoing hospitality. With a background spanning professional kitchens and deep wine expertise, Mel’s approach is rooted in simplicity, provenance, and bold flavour. Whether at the pass or by the fire, her food celebrates the best of what is local and in season - thoughtful, unfussy, and always made to bring people together.

Browning Bros.
Browning Bros. was founded by fifth-generation farmers Nat and Archie Browning, whose family has called this land home for over 125 years. What began as their childhood landscape of forts and dens has grown into a unique space for others to connect, explore, and imagine. A few years into the journey, Nat’s wife Becky joined the fold, bringing her background in events and natural flair for hosting. Together, the trio has transformed Teybrook Orchard into a beloved destination for weddings, retreats, and off-grid escapes - a place people return to, again and again, for its warmth, beauty, and sense of possibility.

Frequently Asked Questions & Important Information

  • Cancellation: All tickets are non-refundable. However, if you can no longer attend, you may transfer your tickets to someone else and notify us at admin@thelaundrybrixton.com.

  • Updated Allergy & Dietary Policy: Due to the remote nature of our woodland setting and the infrastructure available to us in the wild, we are strictly unable to accommodate allergies or dietary requirements beyond Gluten Free, Nut Free, or Vegetarian option (with a specific vegetarian main course available). Unfortunately, we cannot cater for vegan diets or any additional allergies or restrictions for this event, so please clearly note your gluten-free or vegetarian request immediately upon booking so our kitchen team can prepare.

  • Accessibility: We warmly welcome all guests to The Wild Table and want everyone to feel prepared for the woodland environment. Please note that arriving at the experience involves a 10-minute walk down to the Glade along natural, very uneven forest paths, which may be challenging for guests who are less able to walk or stand for periods. We have successfully hosted several wheelchair users at previous events; however, due to the rough terrain, our past guests have found that an off-road wheelchair adaptation is essential for navigating the paths. Once at the communal tables, these attachments can be removed, and our team will gladly adjust the seating so you can dine comfortably. If you have any mobility concerns or specific access questions, please reach out to our team before booking so we can help you plan your visit.

  • Weather: The Wild Table goes ahead in all weather conditions, rain, shine, hot or cold. In the case of adverse weather, we make adjustments to the outdoor structure to keep guests comfortable and safe. As this is an outdoor woodland event, we highly recommend dressing appropriately with suitable footwear and layers.

  • Dogs & Children: Small, well-behaved dogs are welcome (medium and large dogs are not permitted due to the nature of the setting). Our sittings are aimed primarily at adults, but children over the age of 8 are welcome to experience outdoor dining with their own booked seat - we ask that children only join the lunchtime sittings. Babes in arms are also welcome.

Join the Crew: Volunteer with Us this September

An event like this doesn't happen in a vacuum. Alongside our core team, we always invite a special collection of volunteers to live, breathe, and experience this magic space with us for the duration of the build and event. From setting the beautiful tables and assisting with wild foraging, to helping with the dishes and generally holding the whole show together - our volunteers are the absolute heartbeat of The Wild Table.

If you love what we do and want to be a part of the team behind the scenes, we are now looking for volunteers for our upcoming September edition.

Commitment: You will need to stay with us for the full duration of the event, arriving at 12:00pm on Tuesday 15th September and departing at 6:00pm on Sunday 20th September.

Accommodation & Food: You will need to bring your own tent and bedding to camp out under the stars with the team. All your food will be proudly supplied by our kitchen, and you can purchase drinks from the woodland bar.

How to Apply: Spaces are limited. If you’re hard-working, love the outdoors, and want to join the family, email us at admin@thelaundrybrixton.com to introduce yourself and register your interest.
