Brunch and Breakfast in Brixton

Early bird, late riser or somewhere in between, brunch should work around you.

At The Laundry, breakfast and brunch are served seven days a week on Coldharbour Lane, with proper coffee, generous plates, cocktails and enough time to enjoy them without watching the clock.

Come in before the day starts properly. Arrive after everyone else has already eaten. Begin with coffee and allow the table to make a stronger case for a cocktail.

Nobody is judging the time.

Proper brunch plates

Some mornings call for toasted banana bread with salted honeycomb butter.

Others require the full Laundry Fry Up, with eggs your way, streaky bacon, smoky beans, mushrooms, slow-roasted tomatoes, hash brown and sourdough.

There are lighter plates, seasonal dishes and plant-based options too, alongside coffee, juices and the occasional extra order nobody originally thought was necessary.

This is brunch with a proper kitchen behind it. Familiar enough to satisfy the table, interesting enough to stop breakfast feeling like admin.

Brunch seven days a week

Brunch is served:

Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 3pm
Saturday: 10am to 3pm
Sunday: 10am to 4pm

Weekdays work well for breakfast meetings, quiet coffee stops and the morning after the night before.

Saturday belongs to long catch-ups, Brixton Market plans and tables where everyone orders at a different pace.

On Sunday, brunch and seasonal lunch plates run all day until 4pm, with the bar open until 5pm.

Coffee first, cocktails when ready

There is no rule stating brunch must remain sensible.

Start with proper coffee, juice or something cold. Move on to a Bellini, Bloody Maria or brunch cocktail when the day begins making suggestions.

The Laundry is designed for that gradual shift from morning into afternoon, with a full bar, carefully chosen wine and no need to finalise the plan too early.

One coffee becomes another. One plate becomes a few. The table usually knows what it is doing.

Brunch on the terrace

When the weather is behaving, brunch moves naturally onto the terrace.

When it is not, the terrace is covered and heated.

That means outdoor brunch does not need to rely entirely on optimism, weather apps or someone confidently insisting the rain will pass. Terrace tables are available for breakfast, brunch, lunch and drinks, subject to availability.
