The Laundry is an all-day bistro, café and wine shop in Brixton, built for brunch, dinner, terrace drinks and wine-led evenings that do not need to feel too formal.

TLC, The Laundry’s Wine Club

For anyone who likes wine without the lecture, there is TLC, The Laundry’s Wine Club.

Taking place every Tuesday from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, TLC is a corkage-free BYO wine social, not a membership programme and not a tasting course. It is simply a standing invitation to bring a bottle, meet people who love wine, discover something new and enjoy an hour of good wine and good company in Brixton.

Bring something you are excited to open, something you want to share, or something you have been meaning to ask about. The Laundry will bring the table, kick things off with the first bottle for tasting, the food and the neighbourhood wine-shop energy.

Bring your wine, we’ll bring the food

BYO works best when the food can keep up. Start with Perelló manzanilla picante olives, petite baguette with salted whipped butter or Caprese spread with whipped mānuka-smoked feta, sundried tomato pesto, basil and flatbread.

For something bigger, there is steak frites with grilled bavette, café de Paris butter and fries, duck confit with fennel, cucumber and liquorice macerated cherries, or veal piccata with beurre noisette, lemon and capers.

Good bottle, good table, good idea.

BYO in Brixton without the fuss

The Laundry is relaxed enough for a Tuesday bottle with friends, but food-led enough for the wine to feel like part of the meal, not just something you brought in a tote bag.
