Dinner Before O2 Academy Brixton
A good gig night should start before you reach the venue.
The Laundry is on Coldharbour Lane, close to Brixton Station and O2 Academy Brixton, making us an easy place to meet for dinner, drinks or both before heading to the show.
Unlike somewhere built purely around getting people in and out before doors, The Laundry is a neighbourhood bistro first. That means you can have a proper meal, choose a good bottle and make the beginning of the evening feel like part of the plan.
For anyone searching for restaurants near O2 Academy Brixton, that makes things considerably easier.
Pre-gig dinner without rushing it
The autumn menu is particularly well suited to an early dinner.
There is Steak Frites with grilled bavette and café de Paris butter, Wagyu beef and black olive pie, chalk stream trout puttanesca and duck confit with mustard lentils and liquorice cranberries, alongside starters and smaller plates that work well when time is slightly tighter.
If you have an earlier door time, book ahead and give yourself room to eat properly rather than trying to find food at the last minute.
Weekday gig tickets have their advantages
Heading to the Academy during the week also gives you a good reason to start the evening here.
Show your weekday O2 Academy Brixton ticket and you can enjoy £10 cocktails throughout the day, extending the usual L’Apéro cocktail offer beyond its normal 5pm to 7pm window.
That gives you plenty of time for a drink before dinner, another with food and still enough time to make the gig.
Meeting everyone in Brixton
Gig-night group chats have a familiar rhythm. Half the group is already in Brixton, somebody is still on the Victoria line and nobody is entirely sure where everyone is supposed to meet.
The Laundry gives the group somewhere easy to settle in before heading over together.
For larger groups, our dining spaces can accommodate up to 36 people, so bigger pre-gig gatherings do not necessarily need to be split across separate tables.
A drink before the show
The drinks list has plenty beyond the usual pre-gig pint.
Choose from classic and house cocktails, Champagne and sparkling wine, a carefully selected wine list and local beer including Brixton Brewery Coldharbour Lager and Reliance Pale Ale.
From Monday to Friday, L’Apéro also runs from 5pm to 7pm, with £10 cocktails and £6 house wine and pints.
Make dinner part of the night
The show may be the reason you are coming to Brixton, but that does not mean everything before it needs to be purely functional.
Book your table, meet everyone somewhere comfortable and start the night with food and a drink before walking over to the Academy.
