I can’t tell you how proud I am to be featured in the BBQ Winter 2025 edition. Looking back, arriving in London all those years ago from New Zealand, I never could have imagined the adventures that would follow - or that The Laundry would become such a vibrant fixture in Brixton’s dining scene. To see our story and ethos celebrated in a respected publication is a genuine honour and pinch-me moment.
The article captures everything I love most about my work: the creativity, the connection, and the sense of bringing a little Kiwi hospitality to South London. The journey from open-fire cooking to creating a neighbourhood spot on Coldharbour Lane taught me the power of generosity and honest cooking. Being recognised for blending classic European traditions with New World charm feels deeply meaningful, especially knowing how much heart our whole team pours into every plate.
The Laundry isn’t just a restaurant - it’s a community. I’m so proud of what we’ve built together, and being able to share our story, our team, and our passion for food and wine in the pages of BBQ Magazine means the world to me. Thanks to everyone - guests, staff, and our local community - who’s made The Laundry journey possible. Here’s to many more shared stories, memorable meals, and raising a glass to old-world tradition with a big dose of new-world spirit!
