The Laundry’s Sunday roast returns on 6th September, bringing proper roasts, generous trimmings, good wine and the kind of Sunday table that makes Monday feel temporarily irrelevant.

Reservations are open. Stretchy waistbands remain a personal decision.
Sunday roast season returns to Brixton

From 6th September, Sunday roast returns to The Laundry on Coldharbour Lane, taking its rightful place at the centre of colder Sundays in Brixton.
Roasts are served every Sunday from 10am to 4pm, with last bookings at 3.45pm and the bar remaining open until 5pm.
Come with family. Bring friends. Book the table that starts at lunch and finishes whenever everyone has accepted they are staying for dessert.
There is no need to rush a roast. It has already taken its time.
The roast that does not do things by halves
The Laundry’s Sunday roast has become a local institution and was named one of Brixton’s best Sunday roasts by Condé Nast Traveller, with particular praise for its crisp roast potatoes and vegan offering.
Expect seasonal centrepieces, crisp roast potatoes, generous vegetables and gravy that keeps coming. Alongside its meat options, The Laundry serves a proper vegan Sunday roast, so nobody has to sit at the table pretending the side dishes were the plan all along.
This is proper Sunday cooking, with the polish of a restaurant and the comfort required when the weather has started closing in.

There are parts of Sunday lunch where restraint is useful.

The Laundry’s roast comes with bottomless roast vegetables and gravy, so the table can keep passing, pouring and requesting another round until everyone agrees the job has been properly completed.

The Laundry is also a wine shop, with a list shaped by Chef-Sommelier Melanie Brown and a team very capable of helping you find something that works with the table.
Ask for a recommendation, bring the group into the decision or choose the bottle you were hoping someone else would suggest first.
Sunday is not the time for wine admin.
A Sunday table made for staying
The Laundry’s neighbourhood bistro on Coldharbour Lane is built for the slower parts of the week.
There are tables inside, a bustling bar and a covered, heated terrace for anyone committed to a little fresh air, even after summer has packed up. The restaurant is close to Brixton station, Brixton Village and Electric Avenue, making it easy to gather the table without turning Sunday into logistics.
Come for the roast. Stay for pudding. Add another glass because nobody has produced a convincing reason to leave.
Sunday roast for groups
Sunday roast works particularly well when the table is full.
Family lunches, birthdays, overdue catch-ups, groups of friends and everyone who said they were free without realising how many other people would say the same.
For larger groups, The Laundry offers dedicated group dining options and private spaces downstairs. The adjoining rooms can accommodate up to 34 guests comfortably, or 36 at a squeeze.
