Brunch in Brixton, but not the boring kind
There is brunch, and then there is the kind of brunch that quietly takes over your whole day.
The one that starts with coffee and ends with cocktails. The one where someone says they are “just having something light” and then orders three sides. The one where the table gets louder, the plates keep coming, and nobody is in a rush to leave.
That is the kind of brunch we are interested in.
At The Laundry, brunch is not treated like a polite little weekend add-on. We are an all-day bistro and wine shop on Coldharbour Lane, which means proper cooking, generous plates, brilliant drinks and enough Brixton energy to make staying for one more round feel like the only sensible decision.
Brunch is served from 10am-3pm Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday, giving you plenty of time to settle in, order well and make a day of it.
This is brunch in Brixton, but not the boring kind.
The kind of brunch that becomes a plan
Some brunches are functional. A quick bite, a coffee, a polite goodbye.
Ours is not really built for that.
The Laundry is made for the kind of weekend brunch where nobody is quite sure what time it is, but everyone agrees the table needs another round. It is where brunch can start with something comforting, move into something crisp, cold and poured properly, then somehow become the main event of the day.
Our Chef Sommelier Melanie Brown’s kitchen brings together British produce, New Zealand energy and a healthy respect for big flavour. It is generous without being heavy, relaxed without being lazy, and full of the kind of dishes that make everyone at the table ask what you ordered.
Exactly as brunch should be.
Not your standard eggs and exit
We like a classic, but we are not here to send you to sleep.
Brunch at The Laundry has a bit more backbone. The Dirty Breakfast Stack does exactly what it sounds like it should, with hash browns, horseradish cream and Bloody Mary ketchup doing very good work together. It is the kind of dish that turns heads on the way through the room and makes the person opposite you regret ordering lightly.
There is coffee if you are being sensible. There are brunch cocktails if you are being honest. There are plates for sharing, plates you will not want to share, and enough on the menu to keep the table interesting.
And on Sundays, brunch runs all day until 4pm, alongside our seasonal Sunday Board. For the Sunday roast purists, that means roast New Zealand lamb served with all the trimmings, alongside the rest of the menu that makes lingering over lunch feel like a very good idea.
If you are searching for the best brunch in Brixton, this is your sign to come hungry.
Brunch near Brockwell Park
Being on Coldharbour Lane puts us in a very useful position for a South London weekend.
Heading to Brockwell Park? Start here. Meeting friends in Brixton before the day gets away from you? Start here. Looking for brunch near Brockwell Park that feels lively, local and properly cooked? You are in the right place.
We are open from 10am at weekends, with brunch served right through until 4pm, giving you enough time to settle in, order well and make a bit of a morning — or afternoon — of it before the rest of Brixton catches up.
Come before a walk, before a festival, before shopping, before drinks, or before absolutely no plan at all. Some of the best weekends start that way.
For groups, dates and the group chat that never decides
The Laundry works for most brunch situations.
A birthday brunch that needs more than a basic booking. A long-overdue catch-up. A date where you want the room to do some of the heavy lifting. A family visit where everyone wants something different. A group brunch that has taken three weeks to agree on one time and still has not picked a place.
We can help with that.
Walk-ins are welcome, but if you are coming as a group, booking ahead is the smarter move. Brixton gets busy, good tables go quickly, and your most organised friend deserves a win.
For brunch on Coldharbour Lane, we are ready when you are.
Make a day of it
The dangerous thing about brunch at The Laundry is that it rarely behaves like just brunch.
The terrace is there. The bar is open. The cocktails are doing what they came to do. The wine shop is within reach. The menu keeps making a very strong case for staying a little longer.
With brunch served until 4pm and our all-day Sunday brunch offering complete with the seasonal Sunday Board, there is never much reason to rush.
So come for brunch. Stay for another drink. Order the thing you saw on the table next to you. Let the day unfold.
This is brunch in Brixton, but not the boring kind.
Book a table, bring the group, and come hungry.
